the emperor. Take the lead over the relationship, he always says that he is so shy and won't make the first move. Be calm, be cool. Have a vision, carry it out. Remember that I am in control of myself.

(2) = What is the best friend or asset I have that will help me recover the romance?
the magician - I can create success in a lot of things, perhaps I can create some magic, be more optimistic, go for my dreams. Communicate, use all the tools I can to restore my relationship.

(3) = What action should I not take?the one which will ruin any hope of recovering the romance?
the hermit - which is what I am doing now! Avoiding him :( Don't spend too much time over thinking things.

page of swords - maybe not to rush my thoughts, don't get carried away with them. I've listened to gossip about him in the past (I've made some incorrect assumptions). Don't be childish and tell the truth to him. Don't be defensive of offensive, don't clutch onto the sword forever.

It's been a really rough week!! Looking like its time to really consider moving, although I don't feel ready. I wanted to wait a bit. But I did a spread to gain insight.

Made this up:
1. What should I be looking for in a place:

Strength - A solid secure place, I feel physically/mentally at ease, where I can go to charge my battery. Perhaps needing some work/gentle touch and some patience. Don't be too wild or hasty in making a decision.

2. How will I know its right:

Justice - It will have balanced options (price, size, ect). The landlord is a very clear business professional. After weighting the pro's and con's I feel at harmony with the choice.

3. Things to consider:

Nine of Pentacles - I need independence, my space and privacy. I've considered a roommate, but I am probably better alone. No apartments with lots of people. Find a place that has a yard (which agrees with the strength card background). I love being outdoors!

4. Is it a good time? Or should I wait?

The Emperor - Could signify a person who I can get advice from. Not really sure who that is though! Perhaps its telling me not to be too stubborn or hot headed. I am moving away from a controlling, dominant, overbearing personality - my mothers new husband. I live with them and he see's himself as a ruler of the roost and has made it clear that I am not welcome anymore.

5. Will I move soon?

Two of Wands - Choices: Am I the 9P? Can I deal with the Emperor much longer? As far as time frame, since its a 2 moving is more of a planning stage about my future to see what the world has to offer. Do I wait for the boat (its getting engine/canvas work done) or do I find a real residence?

6. Outcome of moving:

Death - A new chapter/transformation. Put the past behind me, let go of the unhealthy dynamics of the house. It maybe hard but things will get better.

Clarify: Moving to the boat

1. Pro's - Page of cups - Be like a teenager, avoid responsibility (no gas bills). Emotionally it will feel good being on the water and getting daily messages from nature. I will be able to slow down and regroup, using creative problem solving to develop a plan.

2. Con's
Eight of cups - Its a short term fix for an inevitable problem. I need to go find a place I can call home. Can't be a wanderer forever. I will be alone and not as distracted by the moving process and be forced to deal with my emotional disappointments from the home situation. Probably won't be the good time I think I will have.

3. Outcome of moving to the boat for a bit: King of pentacles: Get to spend time on my castle, complete with a garden (as pictured). I would have more pentacles (money) if I did this so it is more practical. I will have a better plan.

4. Outcome of moving to a property: The Devil - I am probably too crazy right now to make this choice. Maybe I will find myself attached in bad deal because I am in such a worst case scenario state of mind. A dishonest person might sense my desperation to get out and get me over my head. I could be tempted to overspend since I am in such a rush.

Perhaps I should be looking for the strength to calm down and make the right decision for my future to ensure financial success. Calming down and going to the boat makes the best sense financially, I just need remember its temporary and to save money.

A friend's influence

The first time I was exposed to Tarot was from a friend of mine. He is a fantastic artist and has one of the best imaginations I have ever known.

He was doing readings for friends at a party, my question was about the next few months would go as I was loosing my job and wasn't really going to be looking. I had high hopes it would be full of lazy days! Sadly he said it wasn't going to be so, and it wasn't exactly the 10 of cups time I was wishing for!!

I saw him do a reading once for this shady character that I will never forget. Not sure what deck he was using, but one of the cards (probably death?) had tons of needles on it. It was a warning to him and it was completely ironic because later we found out that he was addicted to heroin. Don't worry I don't associate with those types, it was a random character!

He's done other readings for me, always spot on with chilling accuracy!

My first deck

A friend was looking some insight into her family life and we talked about how interesting it would be to do tarot. I thought you couldn't buy your own deck... bad ju ju or something?

The cards where completely appropriate, I was pretty awkward at it but I managed.

She got me the Gilded Tarot, thinking that it would be a good fit since I'm Irish and it has lovely pictures.

My background: For the last 8 or so years I used Tarot infrequently whenever I would have some tough times or for direction. After some changes in the last year I have been using it much more frequently and find it very valuable to my daily life.

Primarily my focus of this blog is to share:
